Yellowstone NP

Yellowstone is a huge park. It is 40 miles from one end to the other, or an 80 mile round trip.

Starting from the top, this is Yellowstone Lake. It actually has some vents (not geysers) along the edges. It is also a good fishing lake. It is at the far south of the park.

Tourists abound. More of them than animals it seems. The blue pools are hot, very hot, up near 200 d F. Every so often someone will jump in to rescue a dog and neither make it. The reddish outflow is from the Firehole river. and the first water fall is the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. The shot was taken from an overlook about a half mile away. Then at the far north end is Mammoth Hot springs. A flow with high calcium that builds up into lava like flow.

Then we have a blue version of the biggest geyser in the park. look closely and you can see drops way above the white spray.
